Organizations today are in a continuous state of change. Strategic choices, new work formats, digitalisation, and cultural shifts are increasingly intertwined. Yet, we still often approach change with assumptions and models developed for a more stable context.

The ADM Think Tank Change organizes a panel discussion that will critically examine some persistent beliefs about change. We will address questions such as:

  • Do all types of change require the same approach?
  • Why do structural approaches often deliver strong results, but at the same time reach their limits?
  • Is resistance to change a problem, or is it valuable information?
  • Why is change rarely linear, despite what many models suggest?

Leadership and middle management play a central role in the discussion.
What does leadership mean when change becomes permanent? What skills are still too often lacking in executive management? And why do we expect middle managers to drive change without structurally equipping them to do so?

We also consider the models that have dominated our thinking about change for years. Why do they remain so popular? What makes them useful? And where do they fall short in a context of constant flux?

This panel discussion is not a quest for the next new model, but an invitation to approach change more realistically, more humanly, and with greater sensitivity to context.

For those who don’t just want to manage change, but above all want to understand it.

Speakers will be announced soon.
