Volunteering at the Special Olympics European Summer Games 2014

Some of them went to work at the Antwerp Expo to escort the athletes at bocce (sort of like pétanque, only slightly different). Others were sent to the sports fields at ‘t Rooi to accompany the basketball players or to ensure security.

In the evening all went home with a tired-but-happy feeling: the enthusiasm, the gratitude of these special athletes went straight to everybody’s heart.

The initiative for these Summer Games was presented at the ADM reception back in 2012.  Over the past two years a large number of ADM partners and members contributed to supporting these Games by rendering services, making people and materials available, donating.
