Cyber threats: A new approach on how you can avoid/deal with them

Learning how to Prepare / Detect / React to Cyber Threats

Afspanning De Jachthoorn opened its doors for us once again this month. In "Zaal De Schuur" we welcomed over 50 participants for our info session on Cyber Threats and those present were not left wanting!

1

As usual our Program Manager, Peter Berghmans, kicked off the session by setting the scene and warming up the crowd using our online tool, Presenterswall. Three main topics were used as cornerstones:

  • How do you prepare for these incidents and help your entire organisation to be prepared for cyberattacks?

  • How do you detect Cyber threats or help others to detect them?

  • How do you react in case of an attack or how do you help your colleagues to react correctly?

During the second part of our session we invited 7 experts in the three topics of our session. During three intense World Café sessions Marc Vael (Isaca), Wim Bartsoen (BNP Paribas Fortis),  Steven Goossens (Proximus), Tim Groenwals (NMBS), Peter Beerten (Securelink), Rutger Schenk (Hewlett Packard Enterprise) and Luc Beirens helped our participants to share their thoughts and learn more on every topic. Afterwards the experts presented their conclusions gathered from the discussions.

Rounding up our session, Wim Bartsoen took to the stage one last time to tell us a bit more on the Cyber Security CoalitionIf you'd like to learn more about his presentation you can download it in the related documents section. During the session Wim gave us a copy of the Cyber Security Incident Management Guide. If you haven't had the chance to take home your copy, you can find it here.
