Building the Port of the Future: TOGETHER!

The cases presented by NxtPort and DP World Antwerp confirmed it: there is a huge untapped potential for all parties in the Antwerp Port to work more (cost)-efficiently when sharing data and taking down the silo’s between them.

Where else should one discuss the Port of the Future than in the magnificent “Havenhuis”, a building that itself is the link between legacy and future?  So we invited Nxtport to explain the concept of its data sharing platform and DP World Antwerp to share their experiences with the Platform sofar.

NxtPort is a Data Utility Platform which collects and pools data from various stages in the supply chain. The platform allows better data sharing, hence more transparency, more efficiency, less administration and better interoperability of existing platforms. The NxtPort Platform is accessible for all involved parties of the supply chain. Each of the parties can share or use data, develop new software or use applications available on the NxtPort market place. Obviously security and trust are main values for the NxtPort ecosystem.

DP Word Antwerp was one of the pioneers to use this platform and has successfully used it since 2018. More applications will follow in the fall of 2019.  Making use of the shared data on the Nxtport platform has already now led to a more transparent, cost- and time-efficient  way of working ànd higher customer satisfaction.
