Members of the ADM work group Safety & Security (IT managers, security managers ..) and Legal (legal counsels) established the lack of a specific Code of Conduct for Information Administrators in IT and specifically for those professional profiles that have access to delicate and confidential information. Similar codes already exist in Australia and the USA. They protect both companies and employees by defining rules upfront. The original ADM Code of Conduct for Information Administrators was written under the guidance of Patrick Van Eecke (Lawyer at DLA Piper and expert in ICT law) already in 2005. It aims to create awareness, to open the discussion rather than to set a fixed and narrow set of rules. It was revised by Patrick Van Eecke in the summer 2010. Use of the ADM Code You can use, copy or display the ADM Code and/or Certificate as long as you either keep the ADM logo or at least to mention ADM as the legal origin. If merely parts of the original text are used, no reference to ADM is required. The ADM Code cannot be used for commercial purposes.
