ADM - Where Business and ICT meet

Kick-off meeting new track : Mobile Applications

Info session

The past few years have all been about becoming mobile. Today an estimated 3.6 billion people have a mobile phone and for many people it is the only way to connect to the global internet. Now the challenge lies upon us to leverage the possibilities and make this evolution work for us.

Kenneth Stevens and Koen Pellegrims will kick off the mobile track with a helicopter view of the state of the art. They will talk about the way “mobile” increases the importance of “immediacy” (like on-the-spot price comparisons), “context” and location and how it is fundamentally changing customer and employee interaction with your company, brand or product. To some, the sheer number of operating systems, device manufacturers and form factors may seem like a daunting and impenetrable jungle. However, we will show that mobile is just a state of mind and that the world becomes less complex if you only look at it from the other side.

After this introduction, they will touch upon a few topics that will be negotiated in detail in later sessions of the “mobility” track like:

  • mobile security and fleet management;
  • opportunities and challenges of mobile apps in B2C and B2B;
  • developing mobile applications;
  • the business case of a mobile application
